At Truth Design Academy, we believe that learning technical skills is just one part of preparing our students for success. Equally important is giving them the insight, industry exposure, and confidence to turn their skills into thriving careers.
On the 28 of June 2025, our 3D Animation students had the privilege of attending a Career Guidance Workshop led by two of Uganda’s leading creative professionals — Jay Joseph, Senior 2D/3D Animator, and Michael Sseggujja, Animation Director and Visual Storyteller.
The workshop was both practical and inspiring. Jay and Michael walked students through their creative processes — from concept and storyboarding to modeling, animation, and final rendering. They demonstrated how professional animation projects come to life and shared real examples from their own work.
But the conversation went far beyond the technical. They spoke candidly about what it takes to succeed in the animation industry, including:
- The importance of building a strong and diverse portfolio
- Practical steps for launching a career in animation
- How to stay motivated and adaptable in a fast-evolving creative field
- The value of continuous learning and professional networking
Students left the session not only with new knowledge but with renewed energy and clarity about their career paths. For many, it was a turning point — the moment they began to see their skills as a bridge to real-world opportunities in film, gaming, advertising, and beyond.
Workshops like these are a vital part of Truth Design Academy’s commitment to nurturing not just skilled creatives, but confident professionals ready to make their mark in the industry.
